Raising Vulnerable children to thrive.
At Ujamaa, we believe that every child deserves the love of a family and the chance to shape their future. Based in Arusha, Tanzania, we provide safe, long-term, family-style trauma-informed care and support for extremely vulnerable children; helping them grow into confident, independent young adults through love, education, and belonging.

Who we are
In Swahili, 'Ujamaa' represents 'extended family', and that’s exactly what we offer. For children who do not have a safe home environment and have nowhere else to turn, we become home.
Our holistic approach supports vulnerable children, not just through childhood, but into adulthood, ensuring no one is left behind when they turn 18. From early learning to university, from healing to dreaming, we walk with them every step of the way.

What we do
Ujamaa Children’s Home: A warm, family-style home for children aged 2–18 who cannot safely live with relatives. We provide long-term care, education, and emotional support so each child can heal, belong, and grow up with love and stability.
Forward Together: A transition program for our young adults who have grown up at Ujamaa. We offer continued housing, education, and life skills support so they can step confidently into adulthood and build independent, meaningful lives.
